Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich will offload Arturo Vidal when the season ends after recent links with Premier League champions Chelsea and rivals Manchester United, it has been suggested.
Responding to a Bayern Munich supporter account as regards a story from news outlet Kicker that the landing of Leon Goretzka at Bayern Munich means one of Arturo Vidal or Thiago Alcantara will be sold, top Bild journalist Christian Falk responded saying it would be Vidal.
This follows a recent report from the Daily Star linking the Chilean with both Manchester United and Chelsea for a transfer fee of about £53million.
The South American has been one of Europe’s finest midfield players down the years, impressing immensely at both Serie A champions Juventus and German champions Bayern Munich.
Leon Goretzka is due to join the Bundesliga champions on a free transfer from rivals Schalke in the summer transfer window and will provide stiff competition for spots at the Allianz Arena, which means Vidal seems to be the unlucky player.
The 30-year-old combative midfielder could make a decent fit in the English Premier League, however, with his strength and versatility seemingly making him suitable for the English game.
Both Premier League giants look in need of a player like Vidal in the midfield, with English man Michael Carrick set to hang his playing boot and Belgian Marouane Fellaini out of a deal in the summer at Old Trafford.
