Arsenal are interested in Juventus centre-back Daniele Rugani and they could bid for the player in the summer.
According to Rugani’s agent, the Gunners have shown their interest to sign the 23-year-old defender from Scudetto Champions Juventus.
Arsenal’s defence have been a major concern for Arsene Wenger since the start of the season as they have kept just nine clean sheets this season in all competitions.
In his bid to find a lasting solution to his team’s lackluster defensive display, Arsene Wenger contacted West Brom in January over the possibility of signing their veteran center-back Jonny Evans but he didn’t receive a positive response from the Baggies coach Alan Pardew who failed to sanction the Northern Irish’s move out of the Hawthorns stadium.
Pardew claimed that he can’t afford to lose a player of his calibre in their fight against relegation despite a huge offer from Arsenal and Manchester City.
Having improved his attacking prowess, Wenger is hoping to add more quality to his team at the back of the pitch and he’s looking at the direction of the Juventus defender.
While reacting to the speculations linking the player with a move to the Emirates stadium, Rugani’s agent Davide Torchia told Radio Sportiva that Arsenal have made enquiries about his client but they are yet to make an official offer for him.
He believes anything could happen in the summer but Rugani still remains as the Old Lady’s player and he is happy at Turin.
