Manchester United record-signing Paul Pogba was sent an indirect message by José Mourinho after he was substituted by the Portuguese manager in their 2-0 defeat to Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
For the first time under in his second spell at Old Trafford, Paul Pogba was substituted due to his awful display at the Wembley stadium, thereby signifying that there is no player greater than his manager- not even with a coach of Mourinho’s class
Paul Pogba who hasn’t tasted defeat in 36 matches before the match against Spurs was criticized by pundits for exposing the defenders as he hopes to change the game by playing as an attacking midfielder thereby going against Mourinho’s tactics who wanted him to play as a holding midfielder.
With the poor showing at Wembley, it shows there is an urgent need to get a new central midfielder who will complement Pogba in the middle of the pitch. The former Real Madrid manager will also need to get a right winger after his plan to shift Anthony Martial to the right flank was totally unsuccessful as the Frenchman struggled to make a meaningful impact on the game throughout his time on the pitch.
Paul Pogba must immediately return to form which made United pay a whopping sum of £89millilion for his service from Juventus in 2016 if he wants to retain his starting berth under the Portuguese watch.
