Belgian midfielder Marouane Fellaini is set for another spell on the sideline after he picked up a knee injury in their defeat to Tottenham on Wednesday.
Fellaini 30, was substituted just 30 seconds after coming on from the bench as he suffered a minor relapse on his knee.
According to Mourinho while declaring the condition of the midfielder, Fellaini could be out for weeks but he can’t precisely confirm the length of the injury.
“Probably we are going to lose him for a few weeks, but I cannot say if it’s two, three, four or five [weeks]. I cannot say at this moment.” he said
Fellaini has seen his season marred by recurring injuries which has kept him out of action for most of the season. He was initially reported to leave Old Trafford in just concluded winter window after refusing to extend his contract with the Red Devils.
The player now joins Eric Bailly and Ibrahimovic in United’s list of injured players. According to Mourinho Eric Bailly and Ibrahimovic might return to action before Sevilla Clash in Champions League round-of-16 fixture.
Mourinho will be glad to hear that Eric Bailly will be back soon as his team lack the Ivorian international services at the backline.
United who face Huddersfield in Saturday and they will hope to avoid injury to key players ahead of their Champions League fixture. They will want to win so as to maintain their second position in the league table since City look Untouchable at the top of the league.
