According to new reports, Arsenal star player Mesut Ozil has finally put pen on paper for a new deal with the gunners, and he will now become the highest earner at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal were running the risk of losing Mesut as a free man next summer, and the German star has been heavily linked with a move away from the club at the end of this season.
There were widespread speculations that Ozil is interested in reuniting with his former manager Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford when he leaves Arsenal this summer, and even the red devils are keen on bringing him over to the Theater of dreams despite signing Alexis Sanchez from the North Londoners last week.
However, according to new reports, the 29-year-old reached an agreement with Arsene Wenger’s side over the weekend and has officially signed his new deal at Arsenal’s training ground a few hours ago.
It was made known that Ozil will earn some whopping £350,000 each week at Arsenal (before tax), and has become the highest paid player at the club.
His new contract will tie him down at Arsenal until June 2021, and he will hope he can win some trophies together with the likes of Herinkh Mkhitaryan and latest signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Arsene Wenger’s side recently completed the signing of the Gabon international from Borussia Dortmund.
