Chelsea have secured the signing of Roma defender Emerson Palmieri and they are all set to announce his singing today (Monday) as reported by Italian newspaper via DailyMail.
The talented midfielder has been a transfer target for the Blues this January, but the deal is now over the line as Chelsea have agreed to personal terms with the player.
It was previously known that Chelsea’s interest in Edin Dzeko had complicated a move for Emerson after they attempted to secure a deal for both players – Chelsea £44million bid for both players was stalled but Italian newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport now claim Chelsea have agreed a deal with Roma and Emerson will be unveiled today (Monday), A deal was agreed for Emerson on Thursday.
The transfer window will be shut at 11 pm on Wednesday and Chelsea are in dire need to sign a new striker – Roma and Chelsea are yet to agree for a fee to secure the signing of Edin Dzeko.
The former Man City star has scored a total of 49 goals since the start of last year campaign.
Chelsea Boss Antonio Conte has been eager to get a new wingback and Emerson will become Chelsea’s second signing this January with the aim to sign Dzeko or a different striker this week.
