Manchester United recently joined the race for Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri and according to latest reports are at the front of the queue.
The 26-year-old Ivory Coast international has been brilliant for OGC Nice since signing for the club in 2015 from Portuguese side Pacos de Fereira for a measly €1 million. His market value has since risen and he was close to joining Spanish giants Barcelona in last year’s summer window.
Now according to new reports Man United lead the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool in the race to sign the African star.
Man United manager has reiterated his side’s need for reinforcements in central midfield in the summer especially as Michael Carrick nears retirement and Marouane Fellaini continually seeks to move away from the club.
Seri has a £35 million buyout clause inserted in his contract with the French side and is now a top target for the Premier League giants.
Champions Chelsea on their part are looking to boost their midfield as performances from their midfielders this season have not entirely been up to scratch, none more so than new signing Tiemoue Bakayoko.
Liverpool are preparing for life without Emre Can who is believed to be on his way to Turin to joined Italian giants Juventus in the summer when his contract with the Merseyside club runs out.
Seri has made close to 80 appearances for Nice in Ligue 1 to date scoring 11 goals.
