Chelsea according to latest reports have held talks with Italian side Roma for striker Edin Dzeko.
The Premier League champions are looking a bring in a new centre-forward this month and have been looking to seal a deal for WestHam United striker Andy Carroll.
A deal is still believed to be on the works even though Chelsea have been forced to consider a £20 million permanent deal for the Englishman when they would have preferred a loan deal until the end of the season.
However, say new reports say the London club have held talks with Roma as they look to bring former Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko back to the Premier League.
Roma is believed to be against the move as the Bosnian is their main Striker and would prefer to keep him in Rome.
Chelsea are expected to return to negotiations with Roma as they seem to believe terms can be reached for the prolific 31-year old.
He was the leading goal scorer in Serie A last season with 29 goals and although he has fallen short this term with only 9 goals scored in 19 appearances he is still highly regarded across Europe. He scored twice against Chelsea in the Champions League earlier in the season at Stamford Bridge.
