According to reports from the UK, Manchester United have opened talks with fellow Premier League side Leicester City about the possibility of signing frontman Jamie Vardy.
The reports say the Premier League giants could pay up to £35 million for the England international this month.
Man United are looking to add a new striker to their ranks to ease the goalscoring burden on their £75 million man Romelu Lukaku.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic was supposed to play this role for the club but his return from a long-term Knee injury has not gone according to plan, as he is currently out with a reoccurrence of the injury.
Jamie Vardy, 30, has been in good form this season with 9 goals scored in 21 Premier League appearances and could prove to be a brilliant signing in the short term for the Red Devils especially in the Champions League where they will look to make a good run.
For Leicester, an upturn in recent form has seen a number of the club’s stars linked with moves to ‘bigger sides’ as is the case with Riyad Mahrez and Harry Maguire. This is similar to the situation they faced just after their fairytale Premier League success in 2016.
The King Power team did extremely well to hold on to their players in that instance – as only N’golo Kante was sold to Chelsea – but are likely to have a tougher go at it, this time around.
