Chelsea star Eden Hazard has revealed that he will sign a new contract with the club when his Belgium International team-mate Thibaut Courtois does the same.
Both players have been rumoured to chasing moves to Real Madrid as they enter the last 18 months of their deal with the Premier League champions.
The 27-year-old attacker has however now given fresh hope to fans of the club as he admits he will sign a new deal but only after Courtois signs.
He said this when he attended an NBA game played in London between Boston Celtics and the Philadelphia 76ers – in what was the 8th regular season game to be played in London.
He said, “Yes,” when asked if he would sign a new deal with Chelsea. “I think Thibaut first. Then I will sign.”
Courtois who was also at the game alongside teammates Marcos Alonso and Andreas Christensen stated that he is keen to sign a new deal with the club although he is taking his time as he will also like to be closer to his children who live in Spain. He, however, expressed his happiness with life in London and the successes he has enjoyed at Stamford Bridge.
Courtois and his teammates are next in action on Saturday’s early kick-off at home to Leicester City.
