The Stamford Bridge giants are ready to battle rivals Manchester United for a £35m youngster this month as the player’s transfer to FC Barcelona stalls.

The player is Gremio midfielder Artur who seem ready to make the switch to the Catalan club in the January transfer window.

The starlet had even been spotted in a Barcelona Jersey, a photo that immediately went viral on social media and the players club were not delighted in the development.

It seemed £35million move had been completed to take the midfielder to the Nou Camp but that transfer could now be put off.

That is as because the Catalan side brought in Philippe Coutinho a few days ago and now Dailymail suggests the side will now try to balance the financial books before a transfer.

That could mean the deal has been put on hold and both Manchester United and Chelsea are trying to hijack a potential move.

While the Blues seem the least likely considering their already filled midfield, Manchester United’s team is thinner in that department.

England international Michael Carrick and Belgian Marouane Fellaini are both prepared to leave Old Trafford in the summer transfer window which could possibly leave a team berth available.

North London giants Arsenal and league leaders Manchester City are also thought to be closely monitoring the player’s situation but it is very unlikely they will make a move for him this month.
