According to reports, Chelsea have allegedly made a shock enquiry over the possible signing of West Ham United forward Andy Carroll on a season-long loan as they look to begin their winter transfer window business.

Andy Carroll is one of two priority targets for Chelsea at the moment, alongside £15million-rated Everton forward Ross Barkley, as reported by the Daily Mail.

Manager Antonio Conte could do with bringing in more players as his team looks to struggle with the rigour of UEFA Champions League football this campaign.

The Blues are already behind league leaders Manchester City on the Premier League log, with Antonio Conte not able to perform his magic like he did last term.

England international forward Andy Carroll flopped at Merseyside giant Liverpool, looking unable to cope with the intensity of playing for a big team.

Even at his current club West Ham United, the striker’s goal record is poor, though the big striker has also struggled to seal regular playing time as he would have wanted due to constant injury problems.

The 28-year-old former Liverpool star has only scored a total of 32 goals in 123 matches for his current club – the Hammers and has never hit double digits for the team.
