Manchester United are set to make a move for Valencia’s 20-year old midfielder Carlos Soler according to reports.
According to these reports from Spain, the English giants are set to start a squad overhaul and are willing to start by signing the 20-year old to bolster their squad as the January window gets started.
The futures of both Juan Mata and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are very uncertain at the moment with the Armenian being linked with a January move to Italian giants Inter Milan and Carlos Soler is seen as a potential replacement for either.
Predominantly a central box-to-box midfielder, Mourinho is believed to see the youngster as capable of adapting to life in England and is seriously considering making a move for the Spaniard.
Manchester United has been facing a midfield crisis of sorts this season with injuries and poor performances reducing options available to their Portuguese boss.
The manager has identified central midfield as an area that requires urgent reinforcements especially as Marouane Fellaini is apparently searching for a move away from Old Trafford and Michael Carrick is getting closer to the end of his Manchester United career.
It is still relatively soon to tell if the club will go for a player so young, as they look to improve their midfield considerably.
