Done Deal! Chelsea set to recall outstanding player to reinforce squad
Chelsea are set to recall Mason Mount from his season-long loan spell at Vitesse Arnhem after the player failed to amass the expected number of matches at the Dutch side since he arrived there.
Recently, Mason Mount has been involved in senior team matches with the Dutch club but has not been number one choice in the middle of the park for Vitesse.
The midfielder’s overall starts as per the Sun has led to the decision by the Blues board to get him back. Mount, who played for England’s Under-19 team at this summer’s European Championships, won the tournaments best Player Award.
Mount was one of the Blues hopes during the summer, among the players offloaded to gather more playing time but his experience in the Dutch Eredivisie has been underwhelming.
Mount, 18, is a victim of pressure on Vitesse Arnhem and its manager Henk Fraser as the side lies mid-log around the middle half of the league season.
The Premier League Champions have a number of players on loan, with many supporters feeling the likes of England internationals Tammy Abraham at Swansea City and Ruben Loftus-Cheek at Crystal Palace on loan be recalled immediately and added to Antonio Conte’s squad.
