Juventus defender Daniele Rugani is wanted by both Arsenal and Manchester United with both clubs looking to strengthen at the back.

The 23-year old Italian has struggled for game time this season in Turin and is known to fancy a move away from the club.

Arsenal are looking to take advantage of this situation and launch a ₤35 million bid for the Italian international.
The form of Mehdi Benatia has seen Rugani drops to the bench and this coupled with the high demand for the player could see the Turin club listen to offers for the player in January.

Rugani joined Juventus from Empoli in 2013 and was loaned back to the club for 2 seasons where he helped them gain promotion to the Italian top flight after a second placed finish in Serie B.

Reports say Arsenal has stolen a march on Manchester United are ready to make a formal bid for the centre-half in January.

The Gunners are looking to bolster their backline in the winter window as their option in central defence are quite low at the moment and the club sees Rugani as the kind of quality player needed to achieve this.

Arsenal have other defensive targets as manager Arsene Wenger has been impressive with Burnley defender James Tarkowski as well as Jonny Evans of West Brom.
