Another top club join race to sign Chelsea outcast in January

Published

on

Another suitor has emerged as a prime contender to snatch David Luiz on loan or a permanent move in January.

The Brazilian international defender lost his place in Conte’s squad in October after the 3-0 loss against Italian Serie A giants AS Roma, and has since played from the start just once, in a rotated squad against Qarabag.

The center-half is currently nursing a knee problem, which has sidelined him since then, but there’s a lot of rumour that the reasons the defender is missing out are down to a bust-up with Italian tactician Conte as much as the knee problem.

Spanish la Liga giants Real Madrid were the last side to supposedly be keen on in signing him, but now Italian Serie A Champions Juventus have joined the race, as per reports in the Daily Mail.

It does look unlikely a winter transfer move would materialize, and considering the defender is cup-tied in the UEFA Champions League it would make no sense for the two European heavyweights either. However, next summer, if things have not changed, a transfer seems very likely.

The Chelsea boss has insisted there is no sort of rift between the duo and said injury problems was behind his recent absence.

However, Conte would seemingly favour playing with Andreas Christensen, 21, instead.

Federico Chiesa

Liverpool will have to battle Premier League rivals Chelsea and Man United for the signature of Italian winger Federico Chiesa according to reports.

The Anfield side have been tipped to be ahead of others in the move for the Florentina forward who will be allowed to leave the club in the nearby future but on a worthy price.

However, the West London side Chelsea are also reported to be making big moves to snatch the player off Liverpool’s hook while Serie A sides Napoli and Juventus are also linked to the player.

But a bid for the service of the winger by the Italian giants are reported to have been turned down which gives the Reds an advantage to go all out for Federico Chiesa’s signature.

Meanwhile, the English Premier League giants are making efforts to add quality to their squad with the manager Jurgen Klopp seeking to win his first title at the Anfield since joining from Borussia Dortmund about three years ago.

The German manager has admitted that finishing second in the Premier League and Champions League will mean no medal for his side, hence there is a need to win something to be able to confirm the club as a big one.

It was reported that the manager Jurgen Klopp rejected Pedrinho on two occasions but the agent seems not to be giving up as he is open that the German manager will soon be convinced on the youngster who can play as a winger despite being a no. 10.

A move Chelsea is not feasible at the moment with the many options available to manager Maurizio Sarri at the midfield at the Stamford Bridge.

He has made just six appearances in all competitions for the Blues this season, including just one league outing.

The Englishman has played just 21 minutes of Premier League football this season.

His inactivity under the new managerial dispensation of Sari has led to talks about his long-term future at Chelsea.

Olivier Giroud

French striker Olivier Giroud is one of the players praised and respected by manager Maurizio Sarri in the Chelsea team because of the supposed impact he has had in the team.

The former Arsenal man cannot boast of goals in the Blue jersey but that is not an issue for the Italian manager who said Giroud always help to mount pressure on the opponent’s defence as well as deliver assists for goals.

The same was seen of the player in the Russia 2018 World Cup where he played all games from the group stage to the finals wearing the 9 jersey but failed to score a single goal and yet was not an issue for the manager.

This substance is about to be missed as latest reports link the player out of the Stamford Bridge to French side Marseille on a loan deal as it is reported that the West London side will go for strikers in the January window.

Giroud who has scored just once this campaign is facing competition from Alvaro Morata who joined the club from Real Madrid and has scored a total of six goals this season.

Meanwhile, suggestions are that the Blues will not stand in the way of the World Cup winner should he insist on leaving the club.
