Another top club join race to sign Chelsea outcast in January

Another suitor has emerged as a prime contender to snatch David Luiz on loan or a permanent move in January.

The Brazilian international defender lost his place in Conte’s squad in October after the 3-0 loss against Italian Serie A giants AS Roma, and has since played from the start just once, in a rotated squad against Qarabag.

The center-half is currently nursing a knee problem, which has sidelined him since then, but there’s a lot of rumour that the reasons the defender is missing out are down to a bust-up with Italian tactician Conte as much as the knee problem.

Spanish la Liga giants Real Madrid were the last side to supposedly be keen on in signing him, but now Italian Serie A Champions Juventus have joined the race, as per reports in the Daily Mail.

It does look unlikely a winter transfer move would materialize, and considering the defender is cup-tied in the UEFA Champions League it would make no sense for the two European heavyweights either. However, next summer, if things have not changed, a transfer seems very likely.

The Chelsea boss has insisted there is no sort of rift between the duo and said injury problems was behind his recent absence.

However, Conte would seemingly favour playing with Andreas Christensen, 21, instead.
