The future of Chelsea defender David Luiz is up in the air at the moment, with tabloids convinced the Brazilian is on his way out of the club in January even after boss Antonio Conte has repeatedly stated the star is sidelined with a knee injury.

It was reported that the relationship between player and manager has turned sour after the defender was scapegoated after a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Roma in the Champions League back in October.

Major sides in Europe have been credited with an interest in taking the 30-year old away from Stamford Bridge. Reports yesterday now say that Arsenal are willing to offer ₤30 million for the Brazilian.

The North London club is short at the back presently with Mustafi and Mertesacker struggling with injury and form respectively this season and are now showing their interest in the Chelsea center back.

With Luiz seemingly edging ever closer to the exit door at Chelsea, Arsenal are now fancying their chances of getting their man. Nemanja Matic’s move to Manchester United in the summer appears to be a benchmark for the gunners who believe the fee of ₤30 million will be enough to convince the Blues to sell.

Real Madrid have also showed increased interest in the player as they deal with their defensive crisis. It is believed the European champions are willing to offer ₤20 million as manager Zinedine Zidane wants David Luiz in his squad.

A move away from away from the Premier league will seem the better option for Chelsea as they will be against strengthening a league rival. More developments in this story are expected in the coming weeks.
