According to reports, Armenian star player Henrikh Mkhitaryan is not pleased to have been dropped from the starting XI at Manchester United, and he is blaming Jose Mourinho’s tactics for his recent form.
Mkhitaryan has been dropped from seven of Man United’s last eight matchday squads.
Despite starting the season impressively as Mourinho’s first choice attacking midfielder, the former Dortmund playmaker is now struggling for form, and have seen Jesse Lingard playing in his no.10 position in recent games.
Mkhitaryan fumbled in big away matches against Liverpool and Antonio Conte’s Chelsea, and since his performance against the premier league champions on November 5th, he has made just one appearance – as a substitute in Man United’s 1-0 win over Brighton in November.
Manchester United were poor in Stamford Bridge, and Henrikh – who was expected to supply and create chances for Romelu Lukaku – was pocketed by Chelsea midfielders.
But according to new reports, the player believes he is not solely to blame for his form and feels his manager’s tactics had a negative effect on his performances.
Jose Mourinho is expected to sign Mesut Ozil at the end of this season to replace Mkhitaryan in his squad.
The Arsenal playmaker worked with the former Real Madrid boss back then at the Bernabeu, and he is understood to be interested in reuniting with Jose at Old Trafford next year.
