Manchester United are reportedly planning a fresh assault on Inter Milan for star man Ivan Perisic. The Croatian was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford during the summer transfer window but United were unwilling to match Inter’s valuation and so saw the attacker remain in Italy.
Reports in England suggest Jose Mourinho still retains an interest in 28-year old despite the player putting pen to paper on a new five-year deal with Inter earlier this season.
The new deal was expected to increase the asking price for the Croatian but it appears the price tag of ₤45m remains the same as Inter only used the new deal to sure up the fee.
As a result, Mourinho could get his wish of signing the winger should he be able to convince the club’s chiefs to splash the cash in January.
The left wing position appears to be one of strength so far this season for United with the impressive form of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford but it is believed Mourinho still wants the experience and brilliant crossing abilities of Perisic.
Perisic has been in terrific form this season for Inter, as they currently sit top of the Serie A table, contributing seven goals and six assists after 16 games.
