According to reports from the UK, Manchester United are still interested in acquiring the services of Croatian international Ivan Perisic.
The Inter Milan attacker was strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford during the summer transfer window, but decided to remain with the Italian side and went on to sign a new contract with the club earlier this season.
These new reports however suggest that Perisic’s new deal was to protect his transfer value in the market and will see United return for the winger in the winter transfer window.
Perisic has been in terrific form for Inter this season, so far scoring seven goals and six assists in sixteen appearances in the league. Mourinho has publicly stated his desire to sign an attacking player to boost his squad, with Perisic ticking all the right boxes.
The 28-year is believed to be valued at about ₤45m which was around the same region as the fee quoted for United during the summer transfer window, a fee they were unwilling to match.
It is left to be seen if Perisic will consider a January move away from Italy considering how well Inter have been doing in Serie A this season, which sees them as at the time of writing this article sitting top of the table.
