Man United defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah currently on loan at fellow Premier League side Crystal Palace is set to return back to the club in January. Crystal Palace are looking to restructure their squad in the coming window.
Fosu-Mensah took part in Man United’s summer pre-season tour before signing for Palace at the start of the season in order to get more first team appearances. He started quite well as the club struggled for points earlier in the season but has apparently lost his place in the team in recent weeks.
Crystal Palace boss, Roy Hodgson is of the opinion that the team’s defence is well-stocked and can do without the services of the Holland international. Hodgson will instead like to boost his attack and Liverpool striker Danny Ings has been targeted.
It was reported that Man United boss, Jose Mourinho was left unimpressed by Fosu-Mensah’s lack of first team opportunities at Palace in recent weeks and was pondering calling back the player in order to find him a new club able to provide better chances for the defender.
Fosu-Mensah is highly rated by Man United fans and will be pleased to have the player back challenging for starts. He made his debut for United during Louis Van Gaal’s final year at the club and can play in any position across defence and also in midfield and could return to be a good squad option for the club in their title chase.
