Manchester United have been credited with an interest in Juventus left back Alex Sandro, joining Chelsea who have been frontrunners for the Brazilian’s signature.
The Brazilian International is believed to be pushing for a move away from Turin after apparently becoming unhappy with life in Italy and could now become the subject of a bidding war between the two Premier League giants.
Chelsea were openly in pursuit of the 26-year old in the summer but refused to meet the €80m evaluation given by Juventus for the player but could now get their target for less after his decision to leave.
They are now joined by Manchester United, whose manager Mourinho identified the left back as a target. The left back position has been a problematic position of sorts for United with 32-year old English winger Ashley Young the first choice at the moment.
Mourinho has been granted permission to invest ₤80m in this squad next month and could decide to spend a substantial part on Sandro. Manchester United has also been linked with Spurs Left back Danny Rose.
Although Juventus would like to hold on to their player, who signed from Porto 2 years ago, the fact that he is unhappy will most likely force the Turin club to listen to offers.
Sandro has been a consistent performer since signing for the club and managed to oust former Man United man Patrice Evra from the team.
