Ashley Young is reportedly pressuring Manchester United to make a change in their transfer policy.
Young sees his current deal end in June of 2018 and the club has the option of extending the Englishman’s contract by a year which appears to be the norm at Old Trafford.
The Winger is looking to take advantage of his very impressive recent form and run of games this season to bring up talks.
The 32-year old is said to want to see out the rest of his career at United and is looking for a new 3-year contract.
Manchester United as do most premier league clubs usually only give out one-year contract extensions to players over 30.
But Young is of the opinion that he deserves and should be given a 3-year deal as a result of his apparent importance to United boss, Jose Mourinho.
Ashley Young, as you can recall, has been deployed as a left fullback by Mourinho this season as a solution to Man United deficiency in that department.
This has brought about a revival of sorts for the former Aston Villa man, who was believed to be on his way out of the club in the summer. Young’s brilliant wing play has been a formidable weapon for his club so far this season.
