Chelsea’s longstanding interest in Juventus left-back Alex Sandro has received a massive boost in form of the Brazilian apparent unhappiness in Turin.
The 26-year Brazilian international was a major summer target of Chelsea boss, Antonio Conte, but the big money move never materialized.
It is believed Chelsea will go back in for the defender in the January transfer window with the latest news coming from Turin.
Juventus who held on to the player during the summer window might have to accept defeat and let a January move go through. This comes in the backdrop of suggestions by Juventus director Beppe Marotta that he will not stand in the way of the left back if he wants out of the club.
Paris St. Germain and Manchester City have both shown interests in the Juventus defender, Sandro recently with the Premier League leaders in need of a left back as new signing Benjamin Mendy continues to recover from injury.
Both Juventus and Chelsea reportedly sent scouts to watch Porto left-back, Alex Telles recently but Conte and Chelsea’s top priority is said to be to wrap up a January deal for Sandro as they need extra squad depth in defence.
Marcos Alonso is the only recognized senior left back at the club and is third in the list of players with the most minutes on the pitch this season behind goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and fellow defender Cesar Azpilicueta.
