Ivan Perisic has explained his decision to remain at Italian side Inter Milan over the summer despite well publicized interest from Manchester United.
The Croatian attacker was subject to several bids from Man United after Jose Mourinho identified him as one of his four top targets for the summer transfer window.
The 28-year old is enjoying a remarkable season with Inter who are currently top of the Serie A table, after a convincing 5-0 victory over Chievo at the weekend. Perisic grabbed a hattrick in that game as his team layed down a marker to the rest of the league.
The Former Borussia Dortmund man has revealed that it was Inter coach, Luciano Spalletti who convinced him to stay at Inter.; “Spalletti told us that every player is important and we got proof of that in the win, as even those who haven’t had as much space made their mark
.”. Speaking after the match at the Giuseppe Meazza, he said; “Spalletti was extremely important in convincing me to stay.”
Perisic who signed a new 5-year contract in september, is having a very good start to the Serie A season personally. He has scored seven goals and has contributed six assists so far.
Manchester United on their part will be looking to add to their squad in the upcoming January transfer window, as Manager Jose Mourinho has been told he’ll have a budget of 80 million pounds at his disposal.
