Chelsea legend, Frank Lampard believes new signing Tiemoue Bakayoko needs to improve if he is to make it as a Chelsea player.
The French International who arrived in a big money deal from French champions Monaco in the summer, has only impressed on occasions this season.
The midfielder has in recent games lost his place in the Chelsea starting lineup to fellow newcomer, Danny Drinkwater and according to Lampard will find it difficult to get regular starts if he doesn’t improve soon.
“Tiemoue Bakayoko will need to raise his game at Chelsea to keep Danny from taking his spot.” “They Both joined in the summer , Bakayoko has not influential in games. When you sign for Chelsea, you have to understand that you’re never the only player for a position. There is always someone knocking on the door.”
Drinkwater, who arrived from fellow Premier league side Leicester City, has been preferred in midfield alongside Ngolo Kante and Cesc Fabregas recently and this has coincided with a good run of form for the Blues.
Drinkwater, you will recall has played with mainstay, Kante during their days at Leicester especially during their 2015/16 title winning season.
Bakayoko has his work cut out for him if he fully intends to get back into the starting eleven at Stamford Bridge and most adapts quickly to rigours of the English game.
