Arsenal star Mesut Ozil may have revealed the biggest transfer hint yet over his playing future as he runs out his Arsenal contract amid interest from Barcelona and Manchester United.
Despite Sky Sports claiming Mesut Ozil’s representative as saying negotiations with the Gunners over a new contract were looking good, there has been no major progress as he draws closer to being legally able to negotiate a free transfer for next campaign with foreign suitors from January.
The Germany international attacker is one of World’s best playmakers on a good day and a player the North Londoners would keenly love to keep, but he has hinted he has much bigger ambitions.
The former Real Madrid playmaker has won only three English FA Cups since joining the Emirates club back in 2013 and has told Sport Bild he wants to win the UEFA Champions League before he calls it quit with football.
The Gunners have never won the continental showpiece and aren’t even in the competition this term, while their spot in next year’s competition is far from sealed either.
Premier League giant Manchester United or La Liga side FC Barcelona look more likely to help Ozil, 29, realise that dream, but we’ll wait and see who finally signs the German.
