Jose Mourinho’s side have received a boost following the decision of their top transfer target to sign for the club, asking for a squad number.
Anotnie Griezmann looks close to sealing a move to the Old Trafford side after holding fresh talks with Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho in Madrid.
The Portuguese manager was reportedly in Madrid to discuss with the Frenchman on his move to United, and to seal the agreement with his club, Atletico Madrid.
Recently, the Sun reported that Gareth Bale and Antonie Griezmann are among Jose Mourinho’s top January targets as the Portuguese looks to steal the English Premier League title from the grip of local rivals – Manchester City.
There have been rumours that the Atletico player is unwilling to join in January which is believed to be one of the reasons the United manager made the trip to Madrid. As things are, Griezmann will be looking to join United as probably the first player in the summer.
The squad number Antonie Griezmann chose is yet unclear. However, reports have it that the iconic number 7 might be the preferred choice of the player. Football legends such as Cristiano Ronaldo and David Beckham have both donned the number which is highly respected at the Theater of Dreams.
If things work out for both parties, the Frenchman will be a big player, good enough to fit into the boots of Beckham and Ronaldo.
