After winning their English Premier League against Swansea, Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has said the Blues can always do without the Real Madrid target.
The Spanish midfielder believes Chelsea have shown that their star forward’s presence or absence has no real implications on the result of the team.
Hazard, who might be on his way to Real Madrid, played just nine minutes of the game, coming on as a late substitute when the deed was already done.
According to Fabregas, Chelsea are capable of facing any team in the world with or without Eden Hazard; be it Real Madrid, Barcelona, or Bayern Munich.
Speaking following the win over Swansea City, Cesc Fabregas said, “To know that the team is performing and winning without Eden really being involved is very good.”
He made it known that he considers Hazard the best player in the world. However, he also pointed to the fact that the Belgian missed many of the season’s opening games which they won and played well. In the words of the former Arsenal captain, “We started the season without him and he didn’t start against Swansea because he is the best player (and needed a rest).”
Chelsea will take on former boss Rafa Benitez’s team – Newcastle – as they look to mount a serious title challenge. The Blues have a long way to go as Manchester City still top the EPL table. In every fixture, the Citizens look like the runaway leaders – a position Chelsea savoured last season.
