According to the reports from Daily Sun, Manchester United are ready to offload one of their core players come January
The Old Trafford side have deemed Daley Blind as surplus to requirements and as such, the Dutchman could be on his way out of the Theater of Dreams.
There have been speculations over the future of the Netherlands international following the non-extension of his contract which is set to expire in 2018. More so, the player isn’t a Mourinho-esque type of player as the Portuguese tactician considers him too “soft” in defence.
In the current 2017/18 season, Daley Blind has managed just four appearances from a possible fourteen, as his playing time has been cut short with the purchase of Victor Lindleof and the good performances from Jones.
The Dutchman who joined United on a four year deal worth £13.8 million in the summer of 2014, was specifically brought to Manchester United because of the links he had with then manager Louis Van Gaal who was the Dutch coach during the 2014 World Cup.
He is not the only player set to leave Old Trafford in January. Herrera, Luke Shaw, and Marouane Fellaini are all expected to leave the Old Trafford when the January transfer windows opens.
Carrick is likely to stay till the end of the season as his retirement looms. There awaits a coaching role for the United legend when he hangs up his boots.
