The Chelsea manager has come all out to admit that the England winger is a very dangerous player, after watching him score against Southampton in the very last minute.
The Italian manager can also testify to the problems Raheem Sterling caused his side when they faced off earlier in the season.
On Wednesday night, Manchester City had to wait for 96 minutes to be sure of victory which is something they are not used to this season. The hero of the match – Raheem Sterling – has been praised by Chelsea coach amidst his knack for scoring late goals and breaking the hearts of opposition fans.
The Italian told the press, “They won again at the end [96th minute].”
According to the former Juventus manager, Manchester City are a team who do not give up easily until the very end of a game,
“I have a great respect for a team that doesn’t give up until the end.”
He further noted Raheem Sterling’s performance against the Saints as the England international scored the winning goal for the Manchester side, “I remember another game against Bournemouth and Huddersfield. Sterling is very dangerous.”
With the form Manchester City are in, many pundits and legends alike have questioned if they have the character and quality to emulate the 2003/04 Arsenal team which went on to lift the English Premier League trophy without a loss. It is probably still early to decide that, but the Citizens are on track.
