Mourinho Targets Four Left Footers

Subair Adams

Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho has focused his mind on signing four players in the January transfer window, with all four being left-footed.

The United manager has already identified the areas that need to be improved within the United ranks. Having acknowledged that his players are not doing enough on the pitch to merit the top of the English Premier League table, Jose Mourinho has drawn up a list of four left-footed players who can help turn things around at Old Trafford come January.

Manchester United have shown keen interest in signing Arsenal’s German playmaker Mesut Ozil following the former Real Madrid player’s decision not to extend his contract with the Gunners. United are not the only club in the race to sign the creative midfielder. There are also interest from Chelsea, Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Paris Saint Germain.

Mourinho is also interested in bringing Gareth Bale to Old Trafford from Santiago Bernabeu. The Welshman hasn’t played enough games since joining the Los Blancos after being at the end of multiple injuries during his time at the Spanish capital club. Bale is expected to leave Real Madrid soon and United have been outlined as his most likely destination.

Atletico and France forward Antonio Griezmann is also a target for the Portuguese tactician who is not leaving anything to chance when the January window opens. Atletico remain unperturbed regarding the £89.4m release clause of the Frenchman.

Danny Rose of Tottenham Hotspur is the fourth left-footed player who the former Chelsea manager is looking to bring in to the fold at the Theater of Dreams. The Englishman has been out of favour with manager Pochettino at Tottenham and is also willing to move to Manchester United after saying that Tottenham players lack “ambition”.
