According to reports coming from Germany, premier league champions Chelsea have entered the race to sign Manchester United top target Mesut Ozil from Arsenal next year.
Ozil is yet to sign a new contract with the gunners and will be available as a free agent at the end of the term if he fails to put pen on paper for a new deal before then.
There are intense speculations already that Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United are keen on signing the talented playmaker, and that he won’t mind reuniting with the Portuguese tactician at Old Trafford after working together with him back then at Real Madrid.
Barcelona have also been linked with the German international, and there were even rumours that he has agreed to terms with the Catalan giants.
And while Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is insisting that the player is staying with him in January, SportBild are now reporting that Chelsea are a ‘hot candidate’ to get his signature next year.
It was also added that Ozil is keen on remaining in the Premier League.
Antonio Conte added more strength to his midfield department last summer when he signed Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco, but his side failed in their attempt to bring Ross Barkley from Everton.
The Italian tactician has already expressed his concern over his squad size, and it is understood that he is looking to sign two new players next year.
