Antonio Conte has set his sights on Gabon forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who is rumoured to be in search of a new club.
The Borussia Dortmund forward, 28, is having a very productive season despite the results being experienced at Dortmund this season. Having scored 17 goals in 19 matches, Aubameyang is one of the best strikers in Europe this season.
His blazing form has taken him top of the transfer list at Chelsea; with Italian coach Antonio Conte, looking to seal the striker’s signature during the January transfer window.
It is well documented that the player is interested in a move to Spanish giants, Real Madrid. However, a lack of interest from the Madrid board has made him turn elsewhere.
Aubameyang is also a target for Liverpool, having played under current manager Jurgen Klopp when the German coach held the helms at Borussia Dortmund.
It is yet unknown if Chelsea are willing to meet the £188m valuation of the player preferred by Borussia. The player’s form has influenced his increase in valuation. However, at 28, time is no more on his side as he has fewer years to spend playing top notch football.
Dortmund might have to settle for less than their specified amount. Although, they could receive higher transfer fees if competition for the forward gets tough which is looking highly unlikely.
