Chelsea have a number of players on loan in the English Championship, and along with young fullback Ola Aina at Championship side Reading, they also have Jamaican defender Michael Hector.
Centre-half Michael Hector has been first choice all season in the middle of the backline, and he was awarded the man of the match on Saturday for his team as per the rating system of WhoScored.
As a matter of fact, this is not strange, as the player is a solid and reliable defender at that level. The only odd part of it is that he was on the losing team, and his side conceded three times as they let slip a 2-0 lead to end up without any point.
The 25-year-old defender was part of the same month of buying that saw Papy Djilobodji brought in to the Chelsea squad, and while Hector has lasted longer at the West London club than Djilobodji, ultimately it seems as though Chelsea are just fattening the defender to be sold for a higher fee after his few seasons of English Championship experience to his name.
His parent club, Chelsea, are aiming to defend successfully their English Premier League crown this campaign after having won the title under Antonio Conte last season.
