Chelsea captain Gary Cahill has singled out Denmark international defender Andreas Christensen for special praise.
The England international defender has hailed the manner in which the starlet has improved immensely at Stamford Bridge this campaign and compared the Dane with another defender at Chelsea – David Luiz.
As cited by ESPN, Gary Cahill likened Andreas Christensen’s qualities to that of Brazil international defender David Luiz and said that the Ex Monchengladbach loanee player can learn from his Brazilian teammate.
The Dane has been highly favoured to David Luiz on a number of occasions this term, with Chelsea manager Antonio Conte clearly a massive fan of the qualities of the defender.
The young defender has benefitted immensely from his spell in the German Bundesliga with Borussia Monchengladbach and has gone back to Stamford Bridge a much-improved defender.
With a highly busy winter schedule ahead for Chelsea, Antonio Conte will be delighted to have such a set of strong defenders in the team, with the young defender confident to be a regular starter across the festive season.
Chelsea supporters will hope that Andreas Christensen can reach the level of David Luiz one day, with the former Paris Saint Germain star coveted as one of Premier League’s best center-half.
