According to new reports circulating in France, Man United intend bringing Antoine Griezmann into Old Trafford to replace Henrikh Mkhitaryan at the club.
The Frenchman has been linked with the red devils for some time and he even looked ready to sign a deal during the summer window. But Atletico’s transfer ban kept him back at the club as an act of loyalty.
Recently, the 26-year-old made it known that he is happy at his current side even without the titles, but he will still leave the club one day as he can’t stay there forever. He went ahead to confess that a move to Manchester United is ‘a possibility’.
And there are now reports from France that Jose Mourinho’s side are set to break the bank for the Frenchman and that he is being lined up to take Henrikh’s spot in Mourinho’s first-team.
Mkhitaryan plays behind the centre-forward in the club, and he had an impressive start to the campaign by providing five assists in his opening five games.
However, the Armenia star player has struggled for form in recent weeks, and it’s obvious Griezmann’s arrival at Old Trafford would likely end his career at the club.
Manchester United’s management have reportedly promised to sign at least three superstars for Mourinho next summer.
