Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has revealed that Eric Bailly is in contention to play in the premier league this weekend when his side clash with Brighton.
Bailly was not part of the party that participated in the 4-1 thrashing of Newcastle United last Saturday, but the Ivorian watched the game from the stands alongside Phil Jones.
The African player has not been very much regular for his side this season so far, and he won’t even play in the Champions League against Basel on Wednesday.
But speaking ahead of the clash with the Swiss club, manager Jose Mourinho confirmed that Bailly is in line to return this weekend, and is likely to play against Brighton in the premier league.
The former Villarreal defender will be a massive boost with clashes against Arsenal and Manchester City in the next three weeks to come.
On the other hand, Phil Jones has been ruled out of the Saturday game against Brighton. The Englishman aggravated his thigh injury after forcing himself to play in England’s friendly game against Germany last two weeks.
Manchester United are still eight points behind league leaders Man City in the premier league, and manager Jose Mourinho will want all his top stars to be fully fit ahead of the busy festive fixtures.
