Manchester United have received a big and unexpected injury boost ahead of their next premier league game against Newcastle United on Saturday.

A handful of top players have been sidelined for weeks as a result of injuries, but it was made known that both Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are pushing to return for the Saturday game at Old Trafford.

According to the Sun, even though the two stars are still lacking in match sharpness, both of them will most likely start on the bench against Rafa Benitez’s side.

It was also made known that the duo have been participating in full first-team training during the international break with no issues whatsoever.

Manchester United won’t want to risk any of the players by rushing them back into the pitch too early, but it is understood that manager Jose Mourinho desires to have both of them around for the upcoming busy festive fixtures.

A few weeks from now, Manchester United will clash with Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City who are currently topping the premier league table, and Jose wants both players fully back to fitness.

The report also added that it was initially feared Paul’s return at the Newcastle game would come too soon, but the player keeps showing signs he is getting better.
