The ongoing rift between Chelsea defender David Luiz and club manager Antonio Conte may be worse than earlier expected. As per the Evening Standard’s Simon Johnson, who is their main man covering the Chelsea story disclosed the issues are not new.
Most fans had put David Luiz’ removal from the team down to a poor display against Italian Serie A champions AS Roma in midweek, coupled with his reaction to being substituted in the reverse fixture a fortnight ago.
There were numerous report that David Luiz had questioned Antonio Conte’s tactics after the humiliation in Rome against AS Roma.
But as per reliable source, referenced by Simon Johnson, the problem has been lingering since back in September. It’s unclear what caused it, but it would show why Antonio Conte took such a severe action with little or no warning.
Chelsea fans home and abroad are hoping that whatever the player-manager issues is, that it’s resolved as soon as possible as their favourite team looks to overturn their League season on the back of this massive win against rivals Manchester United, led by former manager Jose Mourinho.
Reports on Tuesday has it that club owner Roman Abramovich wants to be part of the daily running of the club in order to avoid a reoccurrence of such issues.
