Eden Hazard: Antonio Conte did this to us to ensure we beat Manchester United

Chelsea forward Eden Hazard admits manager Antonio Conte’s Cobham’s training ground rants last week were just what the team needed.

The Blues bounced back from their 3-0 UEFA Champions League defeat at AS Roma on Tuesday night by defeating Premier League rivals Manchester United on Sunday.

Spain international striker Alvaro Morata scored the only goal at the Bridge as Antonio Conte’s men bounced back to winning ways.

Belgium international forward Eden Hazard says the Italian tactician had given his team a strong talking to during training in the build-up to the crucial tie.

And the Belgium international playmaker thinks that the training ground rant was just what the team needed.

The Blues are nine points behind League leaders Manchester City after Pep Guardiola’s team sent North London giant Arsenal packing in a 3-1 victory at the Etihad.

The former Lille attacking midfielder says the Premier League Champions are not paying attention to the runaway League leaders and are just going about their usual football business.

Talking to French publication RMC, he added: “[Manchester] City is already far 9 points ahead but we [Chelsea] will make our merry way and I [Eden Hazard] hope we [Chelsea] can get a little closer to them [Manchester City].”

The Blues travel to West Bromwich Albion in the first match back after the upcoming international break.
