Luke Shaw ‘Not On Speaking Terms’ With Jose Mourinho

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw and manager Jose Mourinho are currently not on speaking terms, according to reports.

The English leftback arrived at the Old Trafford under former boss Louis Van Gaal and was tipped to become the next big thing at the left-back position in the Premier League due to his impressive form with his former side, Southampton. But that has not been the case due to his inconsistencies and injuries.

Mourinho has not hidden his criticism of the defender with his public comments over the player’s attitude, with reports that Shaw will look elsewhere during the last summer window.

However, reports later emerged that the defender will remain at the Old Trafford and fight for his place under Mourinho, after getting some considerable game-time during the last stages of the Premier League last season.

Reports in the Times have it that Luke Shaw is now considering his future at the Old Trafford due to his reduced role under Mourinho this season, and will look to move to another club during the January transfer window.

But it is understood that Manchester United have triggered a clause in the contract of Luke Shaw that will see him remain at the club until the summer of 2019, which could also mean that the Red Devils will have an upper-hand in any potential transfer negotiations.
