Chelsea are in the race to find a perfect replacement for Spain international striker Alvaro Morata, who could be moving to Juventus in the summer.
The Spaniard failed to live up to fans expectations during the just concluded season and he is tipped to return to Juventus, where he had a successful two-year loan spell.
The Blues have been linked with quite a number of attackers but none have given them an encouraging response.
Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain, who is reportedly unwanted by Maximiliano Allegri ahead of next season, is heavily linked with Chelsea’s move but nothing is yet to be confirmed as it appears to be a mere rumor.
The Blues have also been linked with Valencia striker Rodrigo in the summer. The former Benfica striker enjoyed a great season as he scored 16 goals for the La Liga side during the recently completed season.
However, Chelsea might lose out on the 27-year-old striker as reports suggests he isn’t ready to leave the Mestalla Stadium in the summer.
Spanish media outlet Don Balon claimed that the £25m-rated player wants to be part of the Valencia team, who will take part in next season’s Europa League competition.
Just as Chelsea, Atletico Madrid and Paris St-German would need to look elsewhere for another striker in their mission to reinforce their respective attacking departments ahead of the 2018-19 season.
